We went camping last week. The only really terrible part was when our car broke down the day we were supposed to leave and we had to stay an extra day while we waited to be rescued, which took until midnight or thereabouts on Saturday. Here are some photos from our trip.
I thought this was interesting: that the roots grew around and over the rock.
Looking up at the sky.The lake.
This mountain is classified as an alpine climate, one of the most rugged climates in the world. The winds up here can get over 100 mph! Strangely enough, this particular mountain is home to a specific kind of Indian Paintbrush found nowhere else in the world.
Looking out over the valley.

Rock climbing with my sister.
Every time we passed a large, flat boulder, she’d say, “That looks like a burial slab thing!”It was hard to capture the magnitude of this boulder pile. It went a long way in every direction, even though it doesn’t really look like it here.Sitting on the mountain doodling.I accidentally took nearly the same photo as I did last year, which I thought incredibly strange. (The first photo is the one I took this year.)
That’s exactly what I was going to do! My sister — who’s usually my model — scratched up her legs pretty bad while hiking though, which was sort of sad for both me and her. 😦
Your sister talking about burial slabs made me really happy, because I’m a little dark and happy to know I’m not alone. 🙂 It is beautiful, I would love to take photographs there.
beautiful place!!! Great scenario for pattern pictures 🙂

Beautiful pictures! Maybe the last one, the one you took similar to last year’s photo, could be design inspiration?
